Donald Eye Care has been serving the eye care needs of Panola County from a central location in Carthage, Texas, since 1995. Doctors Ben and Susan Donald are dedicated to the community and each individual patient. Dr. Ben Donald is a long time member of the Carthage Noon Lions Club, and has served many years on the CISD school board, currently serving as board president. Dr. Ben is a certified flight instructor (CFI) and operates East Texas Aviation out of Panola County airport, providing discovery flights and instruction for student pilots when he is not seeing patients. They both enjoy flying and traveling.
Dr. Ben Donald
Dr. Ben Donald grew up in Carthage and graduated from CHS in 1982. His love of East Texas brought him back to practice optometry in his hometown after attending Panola College, Stephen F. Austin State University and the Illinois College of Optometry. His parents, the late Ben Baker and Mavis Donald, were also graduates of Carthage schools.
Dr. Susan Donald
Dr. Susan Donald is a graduate of Ferris State University and the Michigan College of Optometry. She completed a residency and served as an Assistant Professor at the Illinois College of Optometry before opening a private practice in Carthage with her husband Dr. Ben Donald. They have two daughters who are both graduates of Carthage High School.
